But the DVSA (the overriding administrative authority have suspended all training and testing). Mark Drakeford said today that Driving Schools were never on the restricted business list, so long as extra measures are put in place as we can’t keep the 2 metre rule. He mentions car instructors having to take the controls, steering wheel, or gear stick etc during a lesson. It could be the same on a cbt, in the yard assisting with operation of the clutch or basic balance etc. We have such a stringent duty of care for our students, we can’t take any chances or cut any corners. However it is the DVSA who will have the final say, before we can get going again, and we will then have to consider how we are going to put in place the extra safety provions required. It’s getting closer. Safety is paramount. It hasn’t gone away!
